The codes of recipes
Cooking recipes are key representations of gastronomic culture, as they contain the information necessary to carry out actions that result in the preparation of a dish or culinary product.
A cooking recipe, like a musical score, contains a series of records and notations that must be interpreted and performed.
This project explores the relationship between these components or “codes,” their function, meaning, and interconnections, in order to understand which codes are essential for interpreting a recipe and carrying out its execution.
