The table en el comal
The Table on the Comal is an installation that rethinks the traditional concept of the table as a support for food consumption, reinforcing its relationship with the devices or utensils used for the transformation and preparation of food, such as the comal. These two objects, which share a close bond, have lost their connection in contemporary times due to the reconfiguration of domestic space and the introduction of alternative versions, such as the frying pan and the metal comal. Through a series of surfaces designed from traditional fired-clay comales that recover the essence of the table, spaces of consumption are recreated that allude to the hearth, while re-signifying the function of the table and the dynamics of diners by offering an entire meal across different surfaces that require movement and generate new spatial relationships.
